After the incredible success of our summer camp, we knew we wanted to continue making a difference. That’s when we officially named our group Kids Empower Kids, with a mission to use our time and efforts to support causes close to our hearts. Our first official fundraiser came about in a meaningful way—thanks to a family conversation that inspired us to take action.

A Cause Close to Home

During a visit from our aunt, we learned about the challenges faced by the school she works at for differently-abled children, particularly those with autism and learning disabilities. She mentioned that the program was always in need of funds to provide proper support for the students. This immediately struck a chord with us, and we wanted to help.

We knew we had to think of something that would be fun, engaging, and also appeal to people’s love for good food. The idea of a Pani Puri fundraiser was born! Pani puri is a beloved Indian street food that we knew would get a positive response from our community.

The Planning: Turning a Fun Idea into Reality

Planning the fundraiser was no small task. We had to figure out everything, from the cost of ingredients to the logistics of packaging and delivery. We wanted to ensure the pani puri we provided was both delicious and safe, so maintaining hygiene standards was a top priority. It wasn’t just about selling a snack; it was about making sure we delivered a quality product that would meet everyone's expectations.

But, as with any big project, things didn’t go exactly as planned! Just when we thought we were ready to start packing the orders, we realized that the boxes we had prepared didn’t have lids. This sent us scrambling back to the store for last-minute supplies. It was a stressful moment, but we worked together to solve the problem quickly.

Delivering on Our Promise

Despite the hiccups along the way, the overwhelming support we received kept us motivated. We were able to package and deliver the pani puri to all of our supporters, who were incredibly appreciative of our effort. The positive feedback rolled in, and people loved the food and the cause behind it.

A Successful Outcome

At the end of the fundraiser, we raised a significant amount of money, which we proudly donated to support the differently-abled students at our aunt’s school. The experience was both rewarding and eye-opening, as it taught us the importance of planning, problem-solving, and staying dedicated even when things get tough.

Our first fundraiser under Kids Empower Kids was a huge success, and it strengthened our commitment to empowering others. We learned that when young people come together with a shared goal, we can make a real impact. This experience gave us the confidence to continue our mission, and we look forward to many more opportunities to support those in need.

Through this first official project, Kids Empower Kids took its first step in creating positive change. And this is just the beginning!
