At Kids Empower Kids, we’re always looking for opportunities to make a difference, so when INK Global Foundation reached out to us, we were thrilled. They asked if we could help raise funds for a school in India, with the goal of providing computers to help students access the latest technology and keep up with the rapidly evolving world.

We immediately jumped into action, organizing two fundraisers for this important cause.

The Cookie and Cupcake Sale: A Sweet Success

Our first fundraiser came together almost by chance. We noticed that a neighbor was hosting a garage sale, and the idea struck—why not join in and sell cookies and cupcakes to raise some extra funds? It was an impromptu decision, but we knew that every penny counts when you’re working to help others.

That evening, we gathered as a team, baked cookies and cupcakes, and set up a small table the next day. We were proud to say that our treats were a hit—not just for their taste, but also for the enthusiasm we brought to the sale. It may have been a small effort, but it reinforced a simple truth: when it comes to helping, no contribution is too small.

Back-to-School Zoom Session: A Fun and Educational Experience

For our second fundraiser, we decided to organize a more structured event: a "Back to School" Zoom session. This wasn’t just any Zoom call—it was an interactive workshop where participants learned how to make essential back-to-school items such as lip balm, sunscreen, and energy balls, all from natural ingredients.

In the days leading up to the event, we packaged and delivered all the necessary supplies to the participants. During the session, we divided them into three groups, and each group rotated through the activities, making their own lip balms, sunscreen, and energy balls. By the end of the session, everyone had five lip balms, one sunscreen, and eight energy balls—all made with their own hands!

This event wasn’t just about making products—it was about promoting environmental consciousness and encouraging participants to use natural, chemical-free alternatives. We loved seeing everyone learn and engage with the idea of creating their own cosmetics while thinking about sustainability.

The Impact: Two iPads for the School

Thanks to the combined efforts of both fundraisers, we were able to raise enough money to provide two iPads for the school in India. While it may seem like a small step, these iPads will open up a world of opportunities for the students, giving them access to educational resources that will help them thrive.

Final Thoughts

These fundraisers weren’t just about raising money—they were about coming together as a community to support a larger mission. Whether it was through selling baked goods or learning to make sustainable products, we were proud to help make a difference. We hope to continue partnering with organizations like INK Global Foundation and finding creative ways to empower children around the world.
